Thank you for choosing to use the youStory.io platform (hereinafter referred to as “youStory.io” or the “Platform”), which includes the youstory.io mobile application, desktop software, official website, and any other features, functionalities, or services that are now or may be provided in the future (collectively referred to as the “Services”).
1. Acceptance of the Terms of Service
These Terms of Service (hereinafter referred to as the “Terms” or the “Agreement”) govern your access to and use of the Platform and the Services, and may be updated from time to time. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and us. For purposes of this Agreement, “you” and “your” refer to you, the end user of the Services.
BY ACCESSING OR USING THE SERVICES, YOU AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THESE TERMS.
Please read these Terms carefully, especially those provisions highlighted in bold and capital letters, as they outline important legal rights, obligations, and limitations.
YOU MUST ACCEPT ALL OF THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS CONTAINED IN THIS AGREEMENT IN ORDER TO USE THE SERVICES.
If you do not agree to any part of these Terms, you must immediately cease using the Services and discontinue any further activity. Your access to and use of the Services is also subject to our Privacy Policy and any additional guidelines, policies, or notices we may issue from time to time. Such documents are hereby incorporated into this Agreement by reference and form an integral part of these Terms.
2. Changes to These Terms
To enhance your experience and ensure the security and performance of our Services, we may update, improve, or modify the Services from time to time. We reserve the right to revise these Terms as necessary to reflect changes in our practices, legal requirements, or business operations.
When we make material changes, we will use reasonable efforts to notify you, such as by posting updates on the Platform or sending notifications to your account email address. We will also update the “Last Updated” date at the top of these Terms to indicate when the changes become effective.
You are responsible for regularly reviewing these Terms.
YOUR CONTINUED USE OF THE SERVICES AFTER THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF ANY UPDATED TERMS CONSTITUTES YOUR ACCEPTANCE OF THE REVISED TERMS.
If you do not agree with any modifications, you must immediately stop using the Services.
3. Accounts and Registration
3.1 Account Requirements
To access and use certain features of the Platform—such as image generation and publishing on youStory.io you must first register for an account.
When creating an account, you must provide accurate, current, complete, and truthful information. You are solely responsible for maintaining the accuracy of your account information at all times.
You agree to use the Services only for lawful purposes and in compliance with this Agreement.
You agree not to use the Services for any prohibited purposes, including but not limited to those outlined in Section 4.
3.2 Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years of age (or the minimum legal age in your jurisdiction) to use the Services.
If you are under 18 years of age (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction), you may only use the Services under the supervision and with the consent of a parent or legal guardian.
By using the Services, you confirm that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms with you.
3.3 Account Security and Responsibility
You acknowledge and agree to the following:
- Account Security: You are solely responsible for maintaining the security and confidentiality of your account credentials (including your username and password). You must not share your login information with any third party.
- Account Activity: You are fully responsible for all activities that occur through or under your account. If you are using the Platform or Services on behalf of a company, organization, or other legal entity, you represent and warrant that you are authorized to do so and that all such use shall be binding on that entity.
- Monitoring: We may (but are not obligated to) monitor any activity conducted through your account.
We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from unauthorized access to or use of your account, including but not limited to hacking, misuse, or theft. We reserve the right to suspend, terminate, or otherwise restrict your account at any time, with or without notice, and for any reason, including but not limited to: - A breach of these Terms or any applicable law;
- If we determine that your account activity may harm us, other users, or third parties, or compromise the functionality or security of the Platform or Services;
- To comply with lawful requests from regulatory or law enforcement authorities;
- For technical, operational, or security reasons;
- If your account remains inactive for an extended period of time.
In the event of permanent suspension or termination, we will use reasonable efforts to notify you in advance and provide an opportunity to access and back up your data and content. However, we may withhold such notice if we reasonably believe that doing so could harm us, our users, our affiliates, or third parties, or if prohibited by law.
Subject to your legal rights under applicable law, you may lose access to your account or its contents if your account is suspended or terminated.
We do not guarantee the ongoing availability, retention, or recoverability of your content or data. You are responsible for regularly backing up any content you wish to retain.
If you no longer wish to use the Platform or Services, you may request to delete your account by contacting us at [email protected].
Once your account is terminated, access to the Platform and Services will be revoked, and your related information will be deleted or de-identified in accordance with our account deletion policies.

5. Content and License
5.1 Content
You may provide input (“Input”) to the Service and receive output (“Output”) generated by the Service based on the Input. Collectively, the Input and Output are referred to as “Content.” Content may include, but is not limited to, prompts, text, URLs, code, images, videos, data, datasets, documents, or any other material or information submitted to or received from the Service.
5.2 Ownership of Content
Subject to applicable law and the rights granted under these Terms: (a) You retain all ownership rights, including copyright, in the Input; and (b) As between you and us, you own the Output generated by the Service based on your Input. To the extent we have any rights in such Output, we hereby assign to you all right, title, and interest we may have in the Output, provided that you comply with these Terms and applicable laws.
5.3 License Granted to Us
By using the Service and submitting or generating Content, you grant us and our affiliates, service providers (as applicable), third-party partners, and end users a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable, transferable, irrevocable, and perpetual license to use your Content solely to the extent necessary to:
- Operate, provide, maintain, improve, and develop the Service;
- Ensure the functionality, security, and integrity of the Service;
- Comply with applicable laws, regulations, legal obligations, or enforcement requests;
- Enforce our Terms, policies, and rights. For the purposes of these Terms, “use” includes, but is not limited to, the rights to reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from, distribute, publicly display, publicly perform, and otherwise exploit the Content, only to the extent required for the purposes stated above.
5.4 Representations and Warranties
By accessing or using the Service, you represent and warrant that:
- You have all necessary rights, licenses, and consents to provide the Input and to grant the rights specified in these Terms;
- You are solely responsible for your Content, including its legality, reliability, accuracy, and appropriateness, and ensure it does not violate these Terms, applicable law, or youStory.io’s Privacy Policy;
- youStory.io does not and cannot guarantee the legality, appropriateness, accuracy, or completeness of any Output generated through the Service based on your Input;
- Your Content and use of the Service under these Terms will not:
- Violate any applicable laws, regulations, or third-party rights;
- Require youStory.io to obtain any additional licenses or consents;
- Require the payment of royalties, fees, or other compensation to any third party;
- Require attribution or acknowledgment to any third party.
5.5 Disclaimer Regarding AI-Generated Output
Artificial intelligence and machine learning are complex and evolving technologies. While we strive to improve the accuracy, reliability, safety, and usefulness of the Service, you acknowledge and agree that due to the inherent limitations of such technologies, the Service may produce inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or otherwise incorrect content. By using the Service, you agree to the following:
- Accuracy of Output is not guaranteed. Output may not always reflect actual people, places, facts, or current events and should not be considered factual, authoritative, or a substitute for professional judgment or advice.
- Independent evaluation is required. You are solely responsible for evaluating the accuracy, completeness, legality, and suitability of any Output for your particular use case. Human review and verification are strongly recommended where Output may influence real-world decisions or actions.
- Not for high-risk use. You may not use any Output related to identifiable individuals in a way that may result in legal, financial, reputational, or other significant consequences for that individual. This includes, but is not limited to, decisions in the areas of credit, education, employment, housing, insurance, healthcare, legal matters, or other domains with significant personal impact.
- No endorsement. Output generated by the Service is algorithmic and does not represent our views, values, or opinions—even when it appears to involve sensitive topics. References to third-party products, services, or entities do not constitute endorsements or any relationship with such third parties.
6. Paid Services and Payments
6.1 Paid Services
Depending on your region and available offerings, we may provide certain features or functionalities free of charge (“Free Services”) while others may require payment (“Paid Services”). Paid Services may include youStory.io Pro and other premium products available on the platform. Whether using Free or Paid Services, you agree to use the Service in compliance with these Terms and all applicable laws and regulations. The scope, functionality, pricing, and applicable terms for each Paid Service are detailed on the respective product or purchase page within the platform. It is your responsibility to review these details before purchasing or subscribing. Unless otherwise required by applicable laws in your jurisdiction, we reserve the right to modify or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, including:
- Adjusting features or functionalities of Free or Paid Services;
- Changing pricing, subscription models, or billing practices for Paid Services;
- Introducing new services or discontinuing existing ones. Such changes will not retroactively affect rights you have already acquired through a Paid Service, provided those rights were validly obtained prior to the effective date of the change and remain valid under these Terms and applicable law.
6.2 Terms for Purchases and Subscriptions
You may purchase or subscribe to Paid Services through your Apple ID, Google account, or other platform account, prepaying the applicable subscription fee or one-time charge and any required taxes in your local currency. Payment methods and processing are subject to the terms of the platform you use. Unless otherwise required by law in your jurisdiction, all listed prices exclude taxes. You acknowledge that applicable sales, use, VAT, or other taxes may be added and collected accordingly. Failure to pay the required fees and taxes may result in suspension or termination of your access to Paid Services. Paid Services may involve different billing models, including:
- Fixed-term billing: A one-time or recurring fee for a specific period (e.g., monthly, annually).
- Auto-renewal: Unless cancelled, the system will automatically charge you on a recurring basis (e.g., monthly or as otherwise indicated at purchase or by notice). By subscribing under an auto-renewal model, you expressly authorize Apple, Google, or any other platform to:
- Store your payment information (e.g., credit or debit card details);
- Charge your selected payment method at the beginning of each renewal term;
- Apply applicable taxes based on your billing and location information. Please refer to your platform’s subscription management settings and cancellation policy (e.g., via Apple or Google account settings) to manage or cancel subscriptions and prevent auto-renewals.
6.3 Renewals and Cancellations
Depending on your region and the available Paid Services, you may choose specific plans to purchase or subscribe to. Fixed-term subscriptions will expire at the end of the term. Auto-renewing subscriptions will automatically renew for the same duration unless otherwise specified. Unless cancelled or modified before the end of the current term, the system will charge your payment method at the beginning of each renewal period. To avoid future charges, you must cancel your subscription through your Apple ID, Google account, or other applicable account before the renewal date.
6.4 Refund Policy
You may cancel your subscription to our premium services for any reason and request a full refund within 14 calendar days of the subscription start—provided that you have not used the service in any way during that period. To request a refund, contact us at: [email protected]. Refunds will be issued using the original payment method. If you subscribed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, your refund request must follow their respective refund policies. You may continue to access premium services until the refund is processed by Apple or Google. This policy does not limit any refund rights you may have under applicable law.
7. Intellectual Property
We respect intellectual property rights and expect our users to do the same. We reserve the right, at our sole discretion and without notice, to:
- Remove any content that infringes (or is suspected of infringing) intellectual property or publicity rights;
- Block access to the Service;
- Terminate the accounts of repeat or serious infringers;
- Take any other actions we deem appropriate to protect rights and comply with the law.
If you believe your intellectual property rights have been infringed, or you find content or output that violates applicable law, please contact us at: [email protected].
To report copyright or IP violations, your written notice must include:
- A physical or electronic signature of a person authorized to act on behalf of the rights holder;
- A clear description of the copyrighted work or intellectual property being infringed, including proof of ownership;
- A description of the infringing material and its location on the platform;
- Your name, address, telephone number, and email address;
- A statement that you have a good faith belief that the material is not authorized by the rights holder, their agent, or the law.
8. Third-Party Services
The Service may incorporate or rely on third-party services, including large language models (“LLMs”) and APIs. By using such third-party services, you agree to comply with their applicable terms, including user agreements, content policies, and data processing terms. To the fullest extent permitted by law, any disputes arising from your use of third-party services are solely between you and the third party. You irrevocably release us from any and all claims, demands, liabilities, damages (direct or indirect), or losses related to such disputes. Some functionality may be powered by third-party LLMs. We do not create or control the outputs generated by such providers and are not responsible for any content produced or delivered through them. You acknowledge that we have no obligation to review, monitor, or pre-screen any outputs or content provided by third-party LLMs or other third-party services that may affect your experience.
9. Disclaimers
The Service and all materials and content provided through the Service are provided on an “as-is” and “as-available” basis. We make no representations or warranties of any kind, including but not limited to:
- That your use of the Service will meet your requirements or achieve any specific results;
- That your use of the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free, or free from harmful code;
- That any information obtained through the Service will be complete, accurate, current, or reliable.
Except as explicitly stated in these Terms, we disclaim all implied conditions, representations, warranties, and terms, including those related to satisfactory quality, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or others.
We may, without notice, change, suspend, withdraw, or restrict the availability of all or part of the Service for business or operational reasons. We are under no obligation to provide transitional services, technical support, or disaster recovery assistance after suspension or termination.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages;
- Our maximum aggregate liability arising from or related to your use of the Service shall not exceed the greater of (i) the total amount you paid to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim or (ii) fifty U.S. dollars (USD $50).
11. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless YouStory.io, our parent company, subsidiaries, affiliates, licensors, and third-party partners, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents from any and all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, or debts arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.
12. Dispute Resolution and Governing Law
12.1 Dispute Resolution
Unless otherwise required by applicable law or regulation, all claims or disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the Service must be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in San Francisco County, California. To the fullest extent permitted by law, you and youStory.io:
- Waive any right to a jury trial;
- Agree to resolve claims on an individual basis, not as part of any class, consolidated, or representative action.
12.2 Governing Law
Unless otherwise required by applicable law or regulation, these Terms and any disputes arising from or relating to them or the Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, excluding its conflict of law rules.
13. Contact Us
